things we learn from a ciggy box...quell, don't dwell.

we discussed the theme of identity in the novel this week and i started by asking them to address the simple question, 'who am i?'
many of them defined it according to their roles and responsibilities. they asked me who i was and i replied, i am large, i contain multitudes haha

when i draw it out like this, i see the very reason why i should be content with my lot. and perhaps that also explains why others are either attracted or intimidated by me, namely all my previous partners. what they'll never understand is that being an overachiever has never been a choice because the way i see it, mediocrity simply demonstrates a grave lack of self-respect.
