weird and wonderful

i drove past that spot at mandai last night on the way to my class bbq thing. the kids were in the car and i wondered if i should mention that was where i had my epiphany after 4 hrs smoking 2 packs of ciggies with the windows up that it was the dumbest way to kill self.haha besides i didn't know how to work the carbon monoxide from the a.c sys of the car. anyway. i'll never want to revisit that moment again. where you feel so completely lost and half-aware.where the vodka made you feel numb and nauseated.when you felt like the entire day was an out-of-body experience in hell.

then we got to cck to the house of one of our repeat students who has been exceptionally wonderful to the class, showing up at OP to help his mates, lending his mac whenever, and just being like a big bro to them.he's a sweetie in all ways and i mentioned it the other day to the class that their adversities have been turned into a blessing to others to which both of them blushed. i find that mature souls truly endear to me, esp when they're so stoic about their setbacks, nary a peep of complaint or lament.and the best part is this chap aced his lit paper and i even zapped it for the cohort.he was an arts student trapped in the wrong stream to begin with.

why do they catch me in such unsavory poses?

chels and i in a strange juxtaposition of innocence and sullied experience haha

anyway part of the reason i'm so fond of my pd group this year is they're all so mature and with initiative and consideration. its my fortune to get such ethos from an arts class, who are usually self-absorbed and whiney. this lot is just like a bunch of old fogies who are a wonderful combi of aunty and accepting. they're adorakble and innocent at times, yet so jaded about everything, including their non-judgemental shruggishness about others. i told them if my kids turned out like them i can certainly die happy. so well, it's a great last lap with the system with the best students till date. <3 they even served up such a decent meal yst (i was expecting burnt morsels of standard sausages n wings) but they did a baked dory with cheese topping even, worthy of fish n co which jo n jill loved. and kept serving us non-stop other inventions like shitakes in honey and wine sauce.i can't believe these kids are merely 17.

speaking of aunty, jill baked jo a chox coffee cake for the first time as an early bd surprise while jo was out doing her cip. when she returned, she looked at the crumbs of jil's sampling and said, i know what it is la,all the mess jil left behind.haha they're lovely

she looked at her iphone recipe download while mixing it and said, i love my phone you know, it's so useful
