woke to a delicious patter of rain but decided i needed a power walk. got out to a drizzle and on the way home from groceries it started to get heavier. strangely i felt mindful walking home and the rain didn't bother but invigorate me. when i got home, the warmth of my abode filled me with deep pleasure. it's like you have to experience the elements to appreciate the comforting shelter. it wasn't a test of self-will or anything but i didn't particularly think of consequences. just being in the moment and feeling the stinging sensation of rain on my shoulders. i understood how buddha must've meditated in all that and still maintain his serenity.
the pleasure of uninhibited laughs and company at cmpb last night
it's all good

There is pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal.
- Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, Lord Byron
